At EQ, we Celebrate the Horse for what he is...a Horse!

desiquest06.jpg

In order to be successful in working with horses, we must first learn what they are all about. This goes way beyond the prey/predator concept into understanding the motivation behind the actions. Horses are highly emotional animals and all their decision making is based on that fact.

We must learn to become a positive and progressive leader in our partnership with our horse. Sometimes this is not so easy to do, or it can be easily overdone. A good leader is balanced, sets realistic expectations, provides consistent boundaries and follows through each request fairly.

EquQuest recognizes that education is the key to success. Over the years, working with thousands of horses and students, we have developed a highly comprehensive and thorough program. Our program is based on experience in training, teaching and our own learning. It is a program that always imparts new knowledge and consistently seeks improvement in the quality of information passed on to each student.

We use a holistic approach when it comes to training, which encompasses all aspects of the horse; mental, emotional and physical. This includes nutrition, management, proper equipment use and fit, biomechanics, physical therapy, correct development and socialization.
