There are three basic skills every horse needs, no matter what his
job is or what your goals are. First, a horse must have energy. Even a good stop is developed off of a good go.
Horses show respect by moving away from the leader, in this case this
means YOU! By your horse being responsive to your request to move, he is not only being obedient but he is also showing
respect and submissiveness to your leadership.
Having good energy applies both on the ground, whether at liberty
or on-line and also under saddle. Being able to move your horse when you please is the basis for all training.
